Split PDF

Split PDF divides a single PDF into multiple separate files, either by custom page ranges you define or by cutting every N pages.

About Split PDF

Splitting is the fix for documents that were bundled for convenience and now need to travel separately. A 200-page scanned ledger where each client needs only their own section. A conference pack where you want the agenda apart from the slides. A statement run where each month should be its own file. Two modes cover nearly every case: fixed intervals for regular documents, and custom ranges when the boundaries are irregular.

Be precise with range syntax, since page numbers refer to physical pages in the file, not printed numbers on the page. A document with a cover and two roman-numeral pages will be offset by three from what the footer says. Check the page count first if the source is unfamiliar. Every-N-pages mode leaves a shorter final file when the total does not divide evenly, which is expected behaviour, not an error.

How to split pdf

  1. Upload the PDF you want to break into smaller separate files.
  2. Choose split every N pages, or type custom ranges such as 1-4, 5-12.
  3. Click Split PDF and let the server generate each output file.
  4. Download the resulting files individually or grab them all as a zip.

Why use this tool

Two split modes

Cut at a fixed interval for uniform documents, or define exact custom ranges when sections start and end at irregular points.

No quality loss

Each output holds the original page objects copied verbatim. Nothing is rasterised or re-compressed, so scans and text stay exactly as sharp.

Batch download

Grab every resulting file in one zip rather than clicking through each download, useful when a long document splits into dozens of parts.

Frequently asked questions

Is the split tool free to use?
Yes. There is no charge, no signup and no account required, and nothing is added to the files you download. You can split as many documents as you like, and the outputs carry no watermark or promotional page appended to them.
Will splitting lower the quality?
No. Splitting copies pages into new documents without re-encoding them, which makes it a lossless operation. Text stays selectable, vector graphics stay sharp at any zoom, and scanned images keep the exact resolution and compression of the source file.
What is the file size limit?
Each upload can be up to 50 MB, and you can send up to 25 files in a single request. Splitting typically produces outputs that together match the original size, since no compression is applied during the operation.
What happens to my file after splitting?
Your upload is processed on our own server rather than a third-party service, then deleted automatically within one hour along with the generated outputs. Download your files during that window, because they cannot be recovered once removed.
How do I write custom page ranges?
List ranges separated by commas, for example 1-3, 4-10, 11-15, and each range becomes its own file. Single pages work too, written as a bare number. Numbers count physical pages from the start of the file, ignoring any printed page numbers.
