About PowerPoint to PDF

Sending a deck as PDF removes the risk that it opens wrong. Slides depend on fonts, embedded media and the exact version of the software that made them; a PDF depends on none of that. It is the safer format for emailing a proposal, uploading coursework, printing handouts, or posting a deck where you cannot know what the reader has installed.

One slide becomes one page. Anything that only exists in time is lost, which is the main thing to plan for: animations, transitions, embedded video and audio do not survive, and a build that reveals bullets one at a time is flattened to its final state. Speaker notes are not included. LibreOffice may also nudge unusual layouts or substitute a missing font.

Frequently asked questions

Do animations and transitions carry over?
No. A PDF page is static, so animations, slide transitions, embedded video and audio are dropped. A slide built to reveal points one by one appears in its finished state, with everything visible. If the build matters, split it across several slides before converting.
Can I get several slides on one page as handouts?
Not here — this tool produces one slide per page. To make handouts, export a handout layout from PowerPoint or Impress first, then convert that file. Alternatively, convert as normal and use your printer's multiple-pages-per-sheet option when you print the PDF.
Are speaker notes included?
No. Only the slides themselves are converted; notes stay in the source file. That is usually what you want when sending a deck out, since notes are written for the presenter. If you need them, export a notes-page layout from your presentation software and convert that.
Why does my deck look slightly different?
LibreOffice performs the conversion and is not identical to PowerPoint. Custom fonts that are not installed on the server are substituted, and unusual layouts, tightly packed text boxes or complex charts can shift by a few points. Check the pages that carry your most precise formatting.
Is it free and what happens to my presentation?
It costs nothing, needs no account and adds no watermark. Decks are converted on our own server rather than a third-party service, and both the upload and the PDF are deleted automatically within an hour. You can send files up to 50 MB each.
